Case Study
The Disability Right Commission wanted to convey information about the rights of disabled people in the workplace. They had a lot of information to get across. The audience would be people with a broad range of disabilities so accessibility and inclusion were key requirements.
Easy-Web-Page worked with service users on an Easy-Video-Pages project. This involved:
Interviewing service users and filming them as they talked about the topic
Editing the footage into clips of the optimum length for use on a website
Adding speech bubbles and clips offering a British Sign Language alternative
The resulting webpage achieves the objectives of communicating information quickly and easy to a wide geographical area. The site is fun and inclusive, representing people with a wide range of disabilities and backgrounds. It also uses speech bubbles and British Sign Language to make sure that the information gets across to the widest range of people.
